Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups dried navy beans
  • 1 cup diced bacon
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Now rinse the dried navy beans and remove debris. Now place them in a bigpot and cover with water. Allow them to soak overnight.
  • The next day you drain the beans and transfer them to a big pot. Now addthe chopped onion and diced baconc.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the molasses, brown sugar, ketchup,Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, andgarlic powder.
  • Pour the molasses mixture over the beans, bacon, and onion. Then add thewater and combine to stir.
  • Then you bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Then, reduce theheat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 2 to 3 hours or until thebeans are tender and the flavors have melded together. Stir occasionally.
  • Now season with salt and black pepper according to taste.
