Now rinse the dried navy beans and remove debris. Now place them in a bigpot and cover with water. Allow them to soak overnight.
The next day you drain the beans and transfer them to a big pot. Now addthe chopped onion and diced baconc.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the molasses, brown sugar, ketchup,Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, andgarlic powder.
Pour the molasses mixture over the beans, bacon, and onion. Then add thewater and combine to stir.
Then you bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Then, reduce theheat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 2 to 3 hours or until thebeans are tender and the flavors have melded together. Stir occasionally.
Now season with salt and black pepper according to taste.
